Patients with chronic diseases often require frequent health visits. Alternative options, such as telehealth, are needed when in-person visits may not be possible. The overall goal of telehealth is to increase access to healthcare. This study aimed to demonstrate the viability of telehealth as an option to improve appointment attendance for routine health visits. In adult patient visits to the Southern Regional Area Health Education Center (SR-AHEC) between 2019 and 2020, a significantly lower proportion of no-shows at telehealth visits were observed than for in-person visits. Telehealth may be a viable option when in-person health visits are not feasible.
