The Data eXchange Platform (DXP) is a novel approach to data exchange and integration with the aim of integrating robust data from external data systems into HMIS to facilitate triangulation, data use and data quality checks in a systematic and sustainable way. To do this, an intermediary platform has been developed in DHIS2, which calls data from global databases, reshapes them into an HMIS-compatible data standard that can be imported into national HMIS, and customized to meet a range of national/subnational use cases. Once fully developed, this pathway will also provide a mechanism through which countries could report routine data to increase representation in the global database and potentially reduce the burden of routine global reporting. This session will present an overview of the DXP concept and approach, including practical use cases and applications, roadmap and current progress as well as plans for field testing and country implementation in 2020.
