With growing intensity and frequency of storms, wildfires, and other disturbances, creating more resilient power systems is more and more important. This session focuses on islandable, resilient power systems, both at a building scale and community scale.

Learning Objectives for this Session Include: 
  1. Be able to differentiate critical loads from non-critical loads in a building.
  2. Be able to specify "islandable" power systems.
  3. Be able to explain how battery backup contributes to resilience.
  4. Be able to evaluate renewable backup power options can contribute to sustainability goals.

This session is approved for the following continuing education credits:
  • 1.5 AIA LU|HSW 
  • 1.5 LFA General credits
