The issues relating to a misalignment of educational supply and demand are well documented, for instance in the form of the gaps between what students learn and can do versus what industry needs. But the cause of these gaps is not an unwillingness to resolve them.  Educators and employers want to work together, but have lacked the means to do so effectively until now, with the availability of IMS Global’s innovative standards that support competency definition and skills recognition.  IMS Global, in its commitment to lifelong learning has formed the Talent Continuum, an advisory body to guide and pioneer better ways of working together in collaborative curriculum design, instruction, assessment and credentialing in a seamless education/workforce ecosystem where evolving industry demand is organically reflected in corporate and academic program offerings, enabling competent and credentialed learners to be truly ready for their next rewarding challenges.  What are the implications of this and how should organizations and EdTech suppliers prepare for this new type and level of collaboration?
