It’s becoming quite difficult or even impossible to imagine the world and our daily life without the internet, with a generation of digital natives grown up with ubiquitous connectivity where neither borders nor barriers to communication can be imposed.
The Digital revolution has also unleashed a set of innovative ICT technologies, tools and behaviours, boosted by the Pandemic effects for a couple of years, it gave rise to many social media platforms to be created and developed & became available for a growing number of users, especially children and teeenagers. Fascinated by a growing number of influencers , Children and teenagers exceptionally, follow unknown and most of the times unqualified people, who have a great influence on their behaviour, daily life and future, followers only wish is to be alike and enjoy the kind of life these influencers show on media platforms, ignoring in the process, their rights , the norms, and threats they might face in using such platforms. Thus they miss the needed knowledge to secure themselves , their identities and their rights of privacy. Facing this situation , most African governments and civil societies are still not considering setting this issue into their agenda and main priorities, especially in the new Sanitary Challenges that might be addressed first.
