MySQL is undoubtedly one of the most successful SQL databases in the past decades. With the emergence of new scenarios and applications, the MySQL community is becoming more diverse than ever. In this talk, I will share my observations from a database designer's perspective in the MySQL community in the last few years, as well as some interesting new databases and some of my predictions for the future MySQL community and products. Late in the session, I will share some great news about TiDB, the open-source distributed database we are working on.
