Edinburgh Spotlight: Tiff Stevenson: Mother

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Person of interest on "Mock The Week," "People Just Do Nothing" and "The Bugle" squats and delivers a show about the extreme sport of womanhood. Birthing her vision of the future before your eyes, how she hopes it will be... free from class war, poverty and consent issues. Also dragging the overdue spectre of what it is more likely to be: womb bothering, lower back pain and vocal fry from her loins. All without an epidural.

With an opening set by Nato Green.

This is an hour of intelligent commentary into how not being everything you thought you would be, can lead to you becoming so much more ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BroadwayBaby

No question about it, Tiff Stevenson is one of the most important voices in comedy today. A thoroughly entertaining show from one of the best comedians you’ll see at the Fringe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Scotsgay

Stevenson is a top-notch stand-up and a formidable political firebrand. Controlling men bear the brunt of her ire, but Mother is also a damning indictment of Britain's obsession with class. She explains her ambivalence towards the royal family ('I don't respect inherited wealth') and calls out the racist hypocrisy of large sections of our commentariat. Very funny and righteous to boot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The List

The open-minded crowd of all genders get a kick out of her material, which ranges from earthy to satirical. At the end of the show, Tiff tells us she’s off to America soon, so this might be her last Fringe for a while. Be sure to catch her here before her Twitter storms go stateside, possibly for good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ed Fest Mag

A much-needed hour of stand-up which delivers big laughs alongside powerful messages, skilfully and with apparent ease ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ITalkTelly This is a partially seated show—arrive early for a seat. ($22, 21+)
