What do we mean when we say Cloud Native applications? How does that apply to Virtual Network Functions and Container network functions? When we deploy VNFs and CNFs today, there is an expectation of resource bindings for optimal performance. How do these resource bindings affect true cloud native model? How can we deliver services with High Availability and what models are applicable?
These are some questions we will attempt to answer in this presentation. We will define cloud native models and provide some reference architectures to do better HA with VNFs and CNFs.
We will also discuss the impact of HA architectures with networking, service chaining, resource assignment and management and how well this model scales with increasing load.
