This workshop will focus on methodologies for assessing implementation of right to information (RTI) laws, in particular the work done on this by UNESCO and FOIAnet in light of SDG Indicator 16.10.2 (implementation of RTI laws). The objective is to advance understanding of how to assess this complex SDG indicator, something that has been a challenge until now. Following the Workshop, FOIAnet will integrate the ideas into a revised assessment methodology, and then present this at the 2019 High Level Political Forum Conference, which includes SDG 16, while UNESCO will integrate ideas around State self-assessments into their thinking on this.
