Bone Piece, a ritualized musical performance, began as a conclusion performance for an installation titled "The Wishing Goat". In its installation form, The Wishing Goat invites participant into a closed room where they are able to speak their wishes aloud to a goat skull, which then records their wishes, adding them to an ever growing sound pool of looped wishes of previous participants in the installation. At the end of the duration of the installation, I use the previously recorded materials in a musical performance setting to release them so that they might catch the wind and be heard by whomever grants wishes. As the piece developed, it's now become a ritual in its own right, where the performer brings about a musical space where the audience can collectively meditate on their own desires and through the music, release them into the world.
