Building upon a recent two-day workshop funded by the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning, this full-day workshop explores best pedagogical practices in collection, description, and presentation of digitized historical images from archives and special collections. We will review the efforts and insights of a group of ten different archives to produce the "Stone-Campbell Teaching Archive" and will seek to identify ways forward for an even deeper and more expansive teaching tool.

This full-day pre-session workshop will review the results of the past colloquy, particularly the development of consortial agreements and collaborations, as well as groundbreaking agreements with academic publishers that permit library use of published descriptions and other metadata in support of teaching with digital archives. A special focus of the preconference workshop is best practices for utilizing theological textbooks and reference works as frameworks for arranging, describing, and searching digital repositories of images that are relevant to teaching and learning in theological and religious studies.

Cost is $50 per person
