With widespread adoption of web archiving options, institutions increasingly have the possibility of documenting internal and public discussion of their activities. This is especially relevant in academic institutions that have faced scandal and controversy in recent years. Three archivists discuss the situations on their campuses—from leadership crises to student porn stars—and how web archiving was used. Discussion covers appraisal strategies, web crawling tools, social media, and the outcome of collecting efforts.
