There is a pervasive feeling around the country that change is needed: a change in the way businesses are operated and a change that would allow every worker to benefit from the intellectual and sweat equity of the entire workforce. "We the Owners" provides a face and voice to the people who are part of this change - employees who are owners. The film captures inspiring stories of employee-owners and founders from New Belgium Brewing (CO), Namaste Solar (CO), and DPR Construction (CA) by following their decisions of founding companies, expansion, succession, recruitment and layoffs. These real-world stories demonstrate how to build and share ownership, link risk and reward, work collaboratively to be profitable, innovative and sustainable, and address wealth inequality.
