Joshua Tree National Park is immense, nearly 800,000 acres, and infinitely variable. Viewed from the road, this desert park only hints at its vitality. Closer examination reveals a fascinating variety of plants and animals that make their home in this land shaped by strong winds, unpredictable torrents of rain, and climatic extremes. This land may appear defeated and dead, but within this parched environment are intricate living systems waiting for the opportune moment to reproduce. They depend on their entire ecosystem for survival. Dark night skies, a rich cultural history, and surreal geologic features add to the attraction of this place.
With National Park Service Rangers, come explore this amazing desert ecosystem. Learn about amazing adaptations of plants and animals that call this area home. Explore the geology of one of the top ten rock climbing places in the world. Participants will be hiking in the Wonderful Land of Rocks area of the park. Lunch provided. Ticket: SOLD OUT
